BOTOX® Cosmetic belongs to a class of medications called “neuromodulators”. These medications are designed to block the release of certain chemicals from nerves and thus inhibit contractions of muscles which, over time, can cause unbecoming wrinkles, lines and creases in the face. These lines can make you appear older, angry, sad, or can just alter the contours of your face in a way that is not attractive. Although BOTOX® Cosmetic was the original medication to treat these wrinkles, there are now several types of neuromodulators on the market. Dermal fillers are jelly-like substances, most often made from hyaluronic acids – a natural substance found in your body’s cells – designed to “fill” defects and creases in the face and body which can cause you to look older. As we age we lose bone, fat pads and collagen. This loss leads to skin laxity and defects which cause wrinkles, creases and folds which give an aged look to the face, hands, eyes and other areas – the face being the primary area of the aged appearance. The Fillers help to “fill” and lift areas where there is loss, reversing some of the changes associated with aging, restoring volume and fullness. They are also used to enhance certain features such as lips, cheeks, and hips. A variety of fillers are available on the market, some made of more permanent substances than hyaluronic acids.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is the alteration of the appearance of the nose by strategic placement of filler. The procedure was designed to give an alternative to those patients who do not want to undergo traditional surgical correction of undesirable humps, hooks, curves, bends, and concavities of their nose. PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. This is a concentrated material made from your own blood which is best known for treatment of injured tendons and muscles. More recently it has gained popularity for anti-aging treatments. When placed strategically in areas of deficiency, it can not only fill defects, but also stimulate cell reproduction and tissue regeneration which may help with the aging process. It has been used to stimulate skin rejuvenation, hair growth, and other regenerative therapies. It has been used on the face, tear through defects, hands, vagina, and other areas.
